I started this on the Herc Haven forum and it seemed to get good reception so I thought I'd try it here.
Let's have a collective fanfiction. Each time you visit the thread post a paragraph to continue the story. I'll start by posting a paragraph, then the next person reads that and posts to continue it. Its kind of fun to have a shared fanfiction and see where people go with the subtle clues or cliffhangers the person before them left. I hope you guys enjoy it here too ^.^
Meg shivered, pulling the blanket closer around her shoulders. Snow was incredibly rare in Greece in winter, so when the weather turned frigid and snowy in the dead of summer she was justifiably worried. She stared out the window, squinting as the wind blew and backed away, heading deeper into the den where she sat on the divan and hoped Hercules would be home soon, she hadn't been with him in his villa for long, so she always felt strange being left alone in such a large place and with this freakish turn in weather she just wished he would come home. And then she mentally kicked herself for being so reliant on someone.

However, since he wasn't here, Meg figured she should try doing something to keep her mind off the freezing weather outside. And so she remembered that about a week ago, she and Wonderboy had picked up some old stuff from her appartment. She had meant to go through it and throw away the stuff she didn't want anymore, but it had remained in the guest room, untouched for seven days. "That's what I'll do!" She said and got up, heading for the stairs.
Hope this wasn't too long ;P

She head to the guestroom where her things were, and frowned, a bit embarrassed at how little she actually owned. All the stuff fit in a single box. She laughed a bit sadly at herself and knelt down, opening it up and immediately smelled the familiar stench of the underworld. "Now I know why I haven't gone through this stuff. I don't know if I want any of it." She stated a bit sadly, wanting to forget her stint in the underworld completely, she didn't want anything to remind her of that traumatizing time.

YAY!
She lifted the box and turned it upside down, so that everything fell with a thud on the floor. There it was. Her past. Some old love letters from High School, money, pictures and....
'My old diary!', she thought. Meg had always kept a diary for every year in her life, this one was from her first year in the underworld. She opened it up, curious about what she may had written, but when she saw the middle pages of the book she dropped it quickly and backed away. Painful memories came back as she slowly picked it up again. 'I HATE YOU' was written with large letters, all over those two pages. 'I HATE YOU I HATE YOU I HATE YOU'
LOL, this is rather gloomy.

She shook her head, tugging the blanket closer around her wanting Herc's company more than ever then kicked herself again. Plus, she thought, her past wasn't something she was quite ready to share with Herc yet. She sighed, closing the diary deciding that at least for now she would let these memories stay suppressed. "You're 21 now Megara, you're not a child stop getting so worked up over everything." She scolded herself. But still couldn't bring herself to read it.

Meg left the room in silence. She went down to the kitchen to make some hot tea and then sat down next to the fireplace, still quite shaken about the book. How would she be able to move forward if her past kept sneaking up behind her.... "Hiya, Meg!" Herc said cheerfully behind her, and almost made her jump out of her skin. BTW Congratulations on your birthday, Prophetofdoom!  |

Meg gave a very startled shout, looking at Herc and gave a sharp growl at him "Don't do that to me!" She had her hand on her chest and gasped for a moment then finally relaxed. "Welcome home." She smiled gently, "How was work?"

Okay, I'm ready to write!  Herc looked at her with excitement. "It's snowing", he squeeled and gave her a broad smile. "Uh...yeah, I know. Otherwise I wouldn't be wearing this blanket, you know", Meg answered sarcastic, but warmly. "Wanna go outside? It's really beautiful!.... Please?" |

Meg was concerned about the snow, especially out of season, but that by no means meant she wasn't going to try and enjoy it. Herc smiled warmly at her and helped her to her feet, giving her a broad grin, "Of course. Though, you might want to get into something warm and some boots." He looked down at her bare feet and chuckled, getting a swat on the arm, "I'm not stupid." She replied, the accusing look on her face washed away as Herc leaned forward to kiss her. But this seemed to surge up fears tagged with her past, and kissed him deeper for a moment as she tried to collect herself.

OoOoooOh I just got a cute idea! But it's gonna be a bit longer than usual... After they had put on some warm clothes, the couple headed out. When she had gotten used to the light, Meg was stunned. Everything was dressed in white snow and snow flakes were slowly flying through the air before touching the ground. "It is so beautiful, it-it's like..." Meg started. "It's like the world has stopped" Herc continued. "Told you", he teased and lay down on a pile of snow, the snow making way for him and whirled away. Meg did the same, and for a while she didn't think of her stupid diary, just how good it felt when the cold snow met her face. She let out a delighted sigh and looked over her shoulder, at Wonderboy. She grabbled over to him and kissed him. Herc had almost fallen asleep and now he looked at her, surprised. "Why hello, what are you doing here?" Meg gave him a loving smile. " I just wanted to say I love you.... And.... I hate myself for doing this to you" Herc looked confused. "What do you--" he began. Suddenly her face turned into a mischevious smile as she quickly took up a big blob of snow in her hand and pressed it against his face. "Eat snow!" she shouted and quickly got up on her feet. The snow ball war had started, and Meg laughed so hard and whole-heartly that she fell down on the ground again. ;D |

She looked up just in time to see Herc coming towards her, and she threw another ball of snow, hitting him with surprising aim as she got to her feet. Herc laughed too, wiping the snow off his face as she chased after her, catching her quite quickly and tackling her into the snow both of them still laughing so hard it hurt. "Oh..." Herc choked, sitting up, smiling at her as he stood up and offered her his hand but she only gave him an evil grin and pulled him back into the snow with her.
