After the huge celebration that roared over the Athens about Hercules’ victory, it was time for them to settle in after. Zeus had prepared a place for them just by the outsides of Thebes that sat quietly outside the Athenian forests, the huge villa stood strong and still near the cliff, and the sun’s view is a perfect entertainment for two lovers as the ocean crashed faintly through the rocks at the end of the cliff. The silence reaped, and the lovers enjoyed first weeks living under the same roof, the villa stretched widely, covering half of the small forest like a wall, And Hercules’ flying stallion had a stable den beside the mansion. Meg was found sitting by the balcony, The setting sun’s light shone brightly at her face, She watched the sun slowly being devoured by the night sky as Morpheus hovered his night sky blanket over the empty orange skies, Night was drawing in nearby then, Meg was still leaning her chin on her folded arms that sat not motioned on the balcony’s sill. She smiled at the sun set, her mind was bulging with happiness that she herself couldn’t control her heart that’s filled with joyous emotions toward Hercules “Sometimes I’ve always thought of this as just some kind of a dream” She sighed. Her eyes were half close; the night wind blew calmly as she quietly spent half of her time staring blankly at the horizon. Now the night sky swallowed the setting sun. Morpheus rested by the clouds as his chariot was sitting by the other side; He freed the stallions that shone blue as they all raced against each other, wildly playing in the sky. She backed the wooden chair and stood up, and went in to get warm next to the fireplace. Mean while.. Hercules was almost done rearranging the schedules for the Spartan kids’ training in the first rise of the sun tomorrow, He was busy erasing and writing notes on the hanging tablets in Phil’s house, The door suddenly swung open, Phil’s hoof obviously marked on the wooden door, he groaned carrying more scrolls that specifically mentioned Hercules’ visit. “Kid, we have a tight schedule for ya these foll’wing days” He flipped a random scroll that rolled down to the floor. “Remember Minos? And his Minotaur? Well ya see, The Minotaur turned out to be his son, He wants you to go to the labyrinth and teach the kiddo how to be a hero” Hercules choked and stared at Phil; His eyes widened and started to utter little chuckles. “Seriously? I-I mean Phil, I think it’s a bad I-“ “No, the minotaur’s just six years old, even I didn’t know he’s actually the king’s kid” Phil continued reading the scroll and cackled aloud. “Get this! Minos wanted his child to excel and nothing more! “He laughed harder and kept reading the rest of the scrolls, Some of it got entangled on him while he read all at once. “Isn’t that nice? I think he’s being a good father for err- Minotaur?” The strong question voice of his started a little chuckle from them both. And quickly stopped, He thought about the visit for a few minutes and tried to talk his way out from the fixed schedule. “But, Phil, I can’t go to any of these schedules this week.” He stopped, Herc eyed on him for a few minutes and did his ‘puppy eyes look’ and continued explaining. “—I’ve got plans with Meg, Remember? Our Honeymoon’s coming up.” “Well, Honey moon Shmuney moon , Save it after the Marriage kid, We can’t let down the offer .” “B-but we were kinda going out to our first honeymoon, I planned it all already, I planned on asking her to be my wife and every-“He paused, His mind was swirling with worrysome about Meg being alone in the villa, He knew Honeymoons were supposedly happen after marriage but this was the only way to find time to propose to her. Phil cut in and rubbed his face, He loosened up and threw the scrolls away from him as they landed a loud thud on the floor, But he didn’t mind. “Okay Kid, I’ll give you this first week, okay? But none aftah, I havtah arrange the schedules offered by the royals who wanted to offer deals and celebrate your victories” Hercules let out a contented sigh and hurriedly finishing the notes he was writing on the tablet. After doing his daily work he retired to his home and found Meg sleepishly lying on the carpet by the fire place, Her satin covered her broad shoulders, enough to keep her warm, The balcony door creaked softly as it was pushed back and forth by the night wind, Hercules smiled and walked over to shut the balcony door up, He sat up next to the sleeping Megara on the carpet and patted her shoulder faintly trying to wake her up, But she seemed asleep soundly, He slid his arms under her resting body and carried her up to their bedroom, The room was half lit by the moon’s light, shining scarcely on the side of the room, The balcony door of their room was open leaving enough wind to pass in giving them comfort while they sleep, Herc layed Meg down on the middle of the bed so she wouldn’t fall, she turned and crinkled her face, She was deeply asleep, As he assumed, Before descending downstairs, Hercules left a kiss atop her forehead and left the room so she could sleep some more. He was alone downstairs; His sandals would make thud noises that echoed throughout the villa, The stallion flapped his wings as he dreamed sullenly. “I could have hired someone to keep the villa in its shape. Maybe I should put up scrolls...” He thought about the idea for a second before realizing that it was a trouble for him to do that so, because many people would try to get their way in to the villa since they are applying for the famous Hercules. He furrowed his brows and sat on the fountain’s sill, when suddenly one of the guards rushed in. “Mr. Hercules, A woman wanted to see you.” The guard’s voice was smooth, He was afraid of sounding a bit disrespectful infront of the man he works for. “Oh, Uhm, Let her in.” The woman walked shyly, the long narrow patio that was surrounded by tapestry on each side galvanized her, She couldn’t help but stare on each side as the bushes were perfectly cut by the shape of the famous hero, Though little did she know about the place, She didn’t recognize the hero, and took it by mistake as someone who’s just rich enough to own a huge place. Hercules met her by the garden and greeted her, The night air grew colder by then, And the woman started to shiver, Her garment was half torn, And was long enough to cover her body, Though the silk was thin, She shivered through this.
“Would you like to come in? Sit inside for a while” Herc flashed a smile, and offered the door open, The woman sat on the sofa, She slumped and felt a bit relieved stumbling to someone’s house that was warm and cosy inside. Herc offered a warm cup of apple flavoured tea, Freshly made from the golden apples which is now nothing but treated as an ordinary fruit. The woman took the cup and held it with her two thin hands, she placed the cup on her lap while holding it still. Hercules sat infront of her and stared for a few seconds before starting a conversation. “So, may I ask why you wanted to see me?” His voice was straight and rough, The woman tried to speak, Though she left out stuttering. “I had no place to live, I was wandering off in every house this country had to offer, Though nobody took me in, I’m broke, I’m hungry and I have nowhere to go, So now my only hope is to ask you if I could stay here until I can get a suitable job so I can live on my own house” The woman looked at her cup, Her eyes started to produce little sparkles, One tear dropped down that crippled on the tea. “Well you’re just in luck, I’m actually looking for someone to keep the villa clean, let’s say we make a deal, I’ll give you a place to live, here, if you could keep the villa clean. But don’t over work yourself; You can rest every now and then” The woman smiled at the offer, she nodded happily,Herc provided her a spare room near the kitchen, It was specifically made for the maids he was going to hire, Though the room looked spacious and there was a king sized bed sitting by the corner, The other space was left empty, But then the room looked spotless. She was satisfied by this and thanked the hero happily. Herc placed the cups on the sink and cleaned them after, The woman though took the job and cleaned the dishes before Herc could even finish, He smiled and seemed to have chosen the right woman for the job he was offering. “I didn’t know your name though” Herc stared at the woman, Waiting for him to fish out her name. “Europa, I’m not related to the princess Europa, I was named after her” She began explaining, Though somehow, She looked exactly like the princess, Her golden blonde hair tied back up by a sash, Her pale white skin that glowed when the light shone brightly at her, she was fair, Yet beautiful. Though any man would fall for this except for Hercules himself. “Well Europa, If you find it hard to adjust here, I have my fiancé with me, She’s really nice, You two might as well get along” He flashed a lopsided grin. “Thank you” “Herc-“ Hercules spun around hearing a faint voice call for his name, It was Meg, She was leaning on the marble frescoed wall, Her face shot looking at him, She smiled calmly. Hercules walked over to Meg’s and held her close to his chest, Meg smiled contentedly she closed her eyes and hummed contentment. “Had a nice sleep sweetheart? You really should get up in the middle of the night” Herc smirked. “Well, I’m not used to sleeping alone; I woke up to check if you were home” Hercules pecked Meg’s forehead lightly, He placed his arms on her waist, and cradled her slowly. While the two lovers cuddled in the living room, Europa settled in, She was still wearing her ragged stola, And thought of trying to work her way tomorrow so she could get clothes for her to wear in. She sat by the bed and looked at the room, every corner was full of nothing, She hugged her knees and leaned her forehead against them she started whispering quietly, and wept. “I wish you were still alive Paris, Where are you... I need you” Suddenly, the silence was broke off by knocks; she quickly got up and opened the door. “Hey, Need company?” Meg smiled, she let herself in, Europa was silent, She waited for her to react, somehow, she might aswell have to, Though Meg stood infront of her smiling, she hesitated for an answer, her voice goggled. “Yes” “Well you must have met my fiancé, Hercules” “Yes” “Oh, I’m sorry for rushing in like this, I figured you might be a little lonesome so I let myself in, thought you needed someone to talk to, You’re the first one we hired actually, besides the guards, make yourself at home” Meg sat by the bedside and she followed, her eyes darted on the floor, Europa didn’t know how to start the conversation Meg have been wanting to.
