Here I am, my life is over. I never should have fell for him, Meg thought sat on a large rock while tears escaped her eyes. She flicked her bangs over her eyes and hid her face in knees, that she had pulled closer to her, and she thought over what had happened. She had been with her parents when the gods set Thebes on fire. The flames flickered and flashed as she ran along side her aging parents. When the fire became worse, Meg urged her parents to go without her. Why had she done that? It may have been out of the goodness of her heart, but would she ever see them again? Being heartsick was a case worse than death, and no one deserves a fate like it. Coughing Meg helped the elderly escape. When she thought everyone had been out, she ran after the crowd. But then disaster struck, While under the burning olive tree, a scorching branch fell and struck her down. Meg screamed with pain as the branch burned her skin. No one heard her, not a soul cared, which caused Meg the most pain. She coughed and struggled for air. Then she searched the sky for her answer, but nothing came, but the blackness of unconciousness. Megs eyes blinked open and she saw....a man, carrying her, what luxury! He was tall man, with dark black hair and peircing blue eyes. Oola la, but why was she being carried by him? Meg soon spoke "Uh wha? who-who are you?". The man laughed "so your awake! SHE LIVES!". Meg grinned a little "Funny and cute, its official, i like him". He continued "I'm Tod, and you must be--", Meg cut him off "MEGARA!", she paused and batted her eyes, "you can call me Meg, if you want". Tod smiled and set Meg down on the side of the stream, "Megara, lovely name, OH YES! I saw you stay back to help the others, thats so er- NICE OF YOU!". Meg giggled "thank you, you know what they say, the cowardly die many times before death, but the coragious only taste bitter death but once". Meg wasn't ussually like this, Meg thought "SNAP OUT OF IT MEG!". "So, umm, er" Tod stammered, then Meg grinned "Take me I'm yours, heh". Tod nodded and winked, and thats what melted Megs heart. They had been together many months, running past the stream, gazing at the stars, walking around the villa, and the acassional tackle to the ground. When that started it had taken Meg by suprise, but it became their signiture entrance. Meg was leaning against the tree waiting for Tod, when he came into sight Meg ran to him and shoved him to the ground (as ussual), and pinned him down. Tod looked suprised by it and stammered "er um eh, hi". Meg flicked him "Well hello to you too". Tod frowned and sighed "i have to tell you something, Meg face dropped "what?". "I have been chosen to be sacraficed, to the gods" he began, before he said anything else Meg cried out "NO, NO YOU CAN'T!". "I have to, goodbye, Megara" he wriggled free from Meg and walked off. Suddenly Meg heard a voice from behind "Tough luck, babe". Meg jumped and stared at the god behind her. "Hades, lord of the underworld, blah bla blah, so about this Tod guy, i can help you". Meg nodded "I'm listening", Hades continued "All you have to do is sell your soul to me and he will live". Meg thought over "fine, just dont hurt him!" Hades smiled wickedly "Oh no you dont have to worry about THAT happening". Later Tod thanked Meg and loved her more than ever. At least that was what Meg thought. When Meg had been walking by the Aegean sea shore, watching they fishers in their work. Their was Tod, Meg blushed as she ussually did, but he stared at her. A moment later another another GIRL walked up behind him. Meg shook her head, and fell to her knees. The other girl grinned evilly "This is your old girlfriend, shes a WIMP!", when Meg heard the words he blood shot eyes looked up and Tod stepped back. Meg flung herself at the girl and tackled her with more force than ever "I AM NOT A WIMP!". The girl screamed and Tod ran at Meg and shoved her off his new girlfriend. Tod had punched Megs face leaving her eye swollen, he had given her various scars, and when Meg tried to escape he had stepped on both of her ankles. Meg had strength, but not the strength to fight him, deep down she still loved him. Here she was now miserable with many scars, a black eye,and two broken ankles. Meg lifted her head, those wounds didnt matter to her, he had broken her heart. Without her heart nothing but black, a case much worse than death, much worse.
